In my larger, more personal academic endeavors, I've been very interested in folk art - the stuff that regular folks make that often combine utility with beauty. The Folk Archive is ran by research writer Lally MacBeth while she worked her way through obscure and forgotten forms of folk art lineages. The substack reflected the materials and stories she came across while working on her book, The Lost Folk: From the Forgotten Past to the Emerging Future of Folk, documenting the culture of "folk" in Britain. While sure there is a lot written about more commonly known forms of folk customs, like dance or fiber arts - but have you ever thought about the folk tradition of making your pub look like a boot???
