Listen - I'm 41. I turned 15 in 2000. And i Y E A R N for the internet that was during the late 90's-early 2000s. It was freaky, it was experimental, it was lawless, and it felt like freedom. It also was still so heavily intertwined with physical media, one supporting the other and vise-versa. Kel's "Popular" substack gives me exactly what I need to find my way back into that pocket of world wide web-life balance I"ve been craving. Popular is cool, nostalgic, real, and feels like a whiff of that old y2k.

“One of my favorite people online is talking about creativity in a REAL ASS WAY. Not regurgitating the same things in a reel format. She also has an amazing Substack called Popular. She keeps me on my toes, and I feel like she shares from a place of lived experience, which, to me, is the most valuable.”
