The best chocolate chip cookies: Browned Butter Toffee Chocolate Chip

I have been on the hunt for the best recipe since I first used my mom’s hand-held mixer to make a batch in middle school (the cookie recipe from the Mirror Lake Inn in Lake Placid, NY—another good one!), and 20+ years later, I can confidently say this is the best recipe I’ve tried.
