donnie darko (2001)

i know rec league is all about recommending what you love personally but let me be subversive here…i can totally SEE why donnie darko is a cult favourite and why so many cinephiles adore it as one of the greatest films ever…personally i fear i could’ve used some more structural handholding along what i thought was a pretty haphazard storyline but maybe that’s the beauty of this film that people flock to and i’m just being a bimbo! i rated it 2.5 stars (IM SORRY OK I KNOW) but i am recommending it nonetheless on here bc i can SEE why you’d love it
