i too understand what it’s like to be driven insane locked in a room touch-starved and deprived of human interaction for what feels like fifteen years. not hard to see why this masterpiece became an obvious precedent for the action choreography of new-gen mcu and dcu. also not hard to see why tarantino is a ride-or-die for this (not least because it involves feet-licking) but in all seriousness, choi min-sik’s final act and park chan-wook’s genius really gave us one of the greatest revenge thrillers of all time. man what a privilege to consume fucked up cinema of this caliber. sorry for being overdramatic but Great Art will have you waxing rhapsodic like this!
