I expected to find this book perverse based on what I had heard, but I didn't experience it that way at all. A really beautiful love story. Love for the flawed self, for lovers, friends, heartache, kids, pain. Just a very special read.

“Funny, sexy, weird, and ultimately very optimistic. A total delight.”

“My book club just read this and it prompted a really fun and fascinating discussion!”

“Across four parts, Miranda July catalogs aging and agency, mothering and friendship, desire and dancing, love and romance, fame and celebrity. At the heart of the story is a woman reorienting herself in middle age, looking closer and, in turn, asking to be seen. Revisit my interview with Miranda July for Coveteur here (and this Slow Stories essay for more thoughts).”
