Roald Dahl + Quentin Blake
Recommended by Myan Aljets
I’m sad when I learn someone didn’t grow up reading Roald Dahl. The best, most whimsical, most ridiculous stories I could ever imagine are his. It’s been a joy to revisit these with my son. Personal faves: the Witches, the BFG, James and the Giant Peach, and the Twits.
You also can’t have an RD story without Quentin Blake’s adorable illustrations. Perfection.

“The Roald Dahl books are so great and I agree with the OP about the stories being married to Quentin Blake illustrations in my head.”
