Learn a Poem This Week (NYT Poetry Challenge)

Jackie Homan

“It feels wonderful to be able to recite a poem from memory at any time. I also recommend the New York Times Poetry Challenge, which walks you through how to do so. This year’s was The More Loving One by W.H. Auden. I wrote an essay about that poem and the process of memorizing it and what it meant to me, linked here :)”

Minna Kelly

“I have the kind of brain that resists memorization at every opportunity so the payoff on this NYT poetry challenge was huge because I started from zero. Knowing a poem by heart is magic. 10/10 use of time.”

Kayla

“I’m memorizing The Second Coming by Yeats right now, will be applying myself to Auden next. Considering paying for NYT to play with the poetry tool linked in this essay. Good stuff!”
