Widowspeak, Roses (2026)
Recommended by Kate
I’ve been riding for Widowspeak since their first LP came out on Captured Tracks in the bygone days of Brooklyn buzz bands. The perfect sound for easygoing summer nights and humid, stormy mornings (the current vibe in Cleveland). Their latest is a real treat. My copy came from local treasure My Mind’s Eye, but get yours wherever music is sold.

“Think Mazzy’s beautiful, pillowy ache with a sprinkle of a Petty-esque twangle jangle. A lovely record start to finish. Favorites: The Hook, Angel Number, Actor”
