UV Water Filtration

I purchased this UV water sterilization unit well over a decade ago, probably a decade and a half, from REI and it’s still going strong.

The man who helped me decide which unit said he backpacked through Chile and once had to drink puddle water out of dire necessity. He used this filter on his entire, several month long trip, and never got ill.

I’ve consumed some questionable water and still have yet to succumb to illness on the trail.

I’m sure there are updated versions that are smaller or lighter or faster but heck, if it ain’t broke don’t fix it.
