After trying so many other note-taking apps, I've landed on Obsidian for many reasons.
Reason #1: markdown files stored locally on your own computer and not trapped in an app make your work future-proof. (Just remember to back that shit up!)
Reason #2: bidirectional links. I cannot live without them anymore.
Reason #3: graph mode. You can see your notes as an interconnected web. The more you input into it, the bigger and webbier it gets!
Reason #4: since the files are stored on your computer, it's easy to duplicate them and make separate vaults for separate projects if you want to keep things clean.
Reason #5: Daily notes are a great place for interstitial journaling so you can keep track of things you do that would be helpful to remember later.
