Keeping track of paint used in your home!!!

A pre rec note/✨complaint✨: So my husband bought our house 5 years before we met and had the whole place professionally painted on the inside walls and has no way to know where the paint is from or what the color it is. And there was none left over or left behind for touch ups.

Since we have been renovating together I have kept track of every paint used in every part of the house inside and out because of how annoying that was. I have a spreadsheet that is pictured on this post with the area of the house, color, color name, store, brand, finish, and any notes!!! And in binder sheets that are like small photo sized I keep the paint cards when I can to reference. I also have a digital version of this available in a file on Google Drive that me and my husband can reference that has links to the color card on the brands website.

A following note I have found a color similar to what he had painted the house that we like and as we do things around the house we plan to repaint each room to that new color so if we need to do any patches to the walls the can be touched up later 🥴
