Such a pleasure to read, I slowed down deliberately toward the end.

I second this. I’ve re-read so many times and find new things each time.

I love this book, and the whole broader personal genre of books that make me want to be a better person. A Man Called Ove is another good example

“A delightful book about an aristocrat in Russia sentenced after the Russian Revolution to life imprisonment in a luxury hotel in Moscow. I’m not necessarily a “likable characters” guy, but many of the characters are very likable. Will make you laugh and cry. Thanks to all those on Rec League who recommended it.”
