Big fan - in moderation. I’ll occasionally have a small glass with cookies or snaking on dry cereal- but two things to look out for: - the sugar content is usually through the roof; unnatural and additive (in America) - the coating it leaves on your tongue is disgusting. Def need a full oral hygiene routine afterwards including deep tongue scraping. The sugars leave a dairy dilemma on your tongue that EVERYONE can notice Lastly, humans are the only species that drinks (other animals’) milk after childhood. Outside of North America, this is virtually unheard of - but we have very powerful dairy lobbies. Americans consume so much more milk it’s kinda peculiar.

I’m with you, milk good :) I’ve been drinking a small glass of milk with psyllium husk mixed in and it tastes like the bottom of the cereal bow .

I read Heidi by Johanna Spyri (like the children’s book/movie) a few years ago when I travelled to Switzerland for work (I love a themed book selection lol), and reading about their shepherd’s lunch of bread and milk or cheese and bread blew my mind. If that dinky meal can sustain a day of alpine hiking, who am I to deny myself the pleasure of the glorious caloric liquid enrichment? I, too, am just a girl!

Loveee reading about the simple, wholesome-sounding meals in old books. There's something weirdly romantic about it?

I love when an old books refers to “a piece of candy”. Something about it being a “piece” feels so wholesome.

Right??? You’re like DANG it really was such a treat to have a little clob of sugar. Good job, healthy ancestors! Now I will finish off this bag of treats in one sitting.

it took me all year but I saved my pennies for a ten cent piece of candy from the corner store!

There also seemed to be a lot of cold meats and cold chicken? I don't even eat meat but something about this feels so easy and appealing?

Yes! I actually was lactose intolerant for much of my childhood and have largely grown out of it, and drinking milk after having to abstain has been so good! I have a small glass a day.
