Not a fast-paced read but I enjoyed it a lot, even more so learning about the true story it’s based on.

"Isola" by Allegra Goodman

“A story of survival rooted in historical fact...our heroine is transformed from a wealthy landowner to a woman of the people after being abandoned on a rocky island in the New World (Canada) during France's colonial era. A great follow-up to the Vaster Wild. I'm clearly on a streak with these "woman in the wild" stories.”

“I love historical fiction, and I was obsessed with “My Side of the Mountain” as a kid, so this book gets five stars from me.”
