This is maybe in opposition to to the sentiment of the piece - but it reminded of spending a day and evening in an Indonesian village that didn’t have electricity. When dusk fell, everyone lit candles and sat on their front porches chatting and visiting one another. It was so beautiful, I’ll never forget it.
