If you love survival stories like this, I recommend Blair Braverman’s podcast What to Carry, What to Burn or her episodes on You’re Wrong About. She even has an episode on this couple! Her descriptions of what survival (in all meanings of the word) entails are so stunning.

She’s great, I love her books!! Her memoir taught me so much about the arctic and dog sleeding.

“One of the most compelling works of nonfiction I’ve ever read that could easily be read in 1-2 sittings. A beautiful love story 🥲 So well researched it feels as though Sophie Elmhurst was there when the ship went down.”

“"...an adrenaline-fueled high seas adventure with a gutting love story that asks why we love difficult people, and who we become under the most extreme conditions imaginable."”

“A nonfiction book that reads like fiction. A favorite read this year.”
