Which is to say — don’t micromanage the people you paid a ton of money to do their actual job. We had a restaurant reception; they set the menu. We hired a florist we loved; they handled arrangements and I stayed out of it. We had a killer photographer; we met with him for one hour mostly to discuss the schedule of the day, and he took it from there. We had my favorite clergyman officiate; we told him to do his thing as long as we ended up married.
It doesn’t actually matter if your forks and knives are brushed gold or chrome. Don’t let them make you think it does.
