Peepo: Just a delightful, rhyming book that multiple generations of our family have had copies of. My husband is always marveling at why it feels so old-timey for a book published in the 80s but I think it’s just charming!

The Way Home in the Night by Akiko Miyakoshi: To my surprise, my daughter loved this beautiful, cozy, slightly haunting book with the most astonishing illustrations. Never fails to make both of us sleepy.

Library Lion: I taught preschool for a while and this is one both parents and kids love. Also, the whole “Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus” series. Read it aloud with gusto and they’ll be dying laughing.

Gerda Muller Seasons Gift Collection: These are some of my favorite board books for kids. There are 4, 1 for each season and they illustrate the things you do in each season. There are no words, so kids can use their imagination about each scene. I spent hours looking through these with each of my kids, and they were especially helpful to learn the rhythm of the year.

The Knight Owl: Such a lovely children’s book with silly puns and a heartwarming story of a little owl who just wants to be a knight! The sequel (The Knight Owl and the Early Bird) is also wonderful, so highly recommend both!

Mouse on the river: Incredibly detailed and a delight to page through. Plus peekaboo flaps. Mouse’s world is gentle, soothing and you could probably spend literal hours just absorbing all the intricate tucked away scenes - squirrels having tea! Peek inside a cozy treehouse!
