Foraging expeditions! 17th-century architecture! Mysterious fires at dusk! Fog on Loch na Dal! Snakeskins hidden in the roadside moss! I felt like a consulting detective for the whole stay, one who’d slipped into another universe’s story through the spine of an old library book. Bloody fantastic.
