This present-day Dublin-set dystopia is DARK and DEVASTATING and while I generally sideye books that flaunt traditional rules of English grammar as being too show-offy, I can acknowledge the run-on sentences and use of present tense work structurally to great affect to communicate the sense of overwhelm of the main character.
