Light Candles for Your Loved Ones

I love the Jewish custom of Yartzheit candles--you light them on the anniversary of someone's death and they're specifically designed to burn for a full 24 hours, as a way to keep that person in mind all day. People in my family often talk to the candles after we light them like they're speaking to the person who passed about what's happened that year that they wish they could have told them about. I know this is a wedding and not an anniversary, but it could be a lovely moment at the beginning of the ceremony to say that you want to honor the people who couldn't be there and light a candle for each of them, that you then keep lit for the rest of the wedding in a central place where people can see and visit them, too, if they're so called. You could put a picture of each person in front of the candle that represents them. <3
