angels in america

just watched this for the first time, the Pulitzer Prize winning play by Tony Kushner split into 6 parts, beautifully acted by a stacked cast - one awe-inspiring performance after the next: Al Pacino - my god. Meryl - woah. Patrick Wilson - ok cutie. I can’t wait to read the play, and see it whenever it is next staged. This will stick with me a long time.

So so good. The play is a fantastic read + it is an incredibly special experience to see it performed live, b/c Kushner is so attuned to the magic potential of the stage (something that is wholly lost in film, because seeing a person do something in front of an audience is such a different + risky experience).

I love the notion of coming to the theater for part 1 and part 2 two nights in a row, like living something. So powerful!
