Such noble, brave, adaptable guys. Today one flew directly over my head in such a way that its feet touched my hair. Which was gross but also an honor. The ones in New York can handle anything, and in that way they’re an inspiration.

I have such a soft spot for pidgeons. In my nyc days I was the girl who was late to the party MULTIPLE times because I was rescuing injured pidgeon. I think the humane society thought I was insane.

That’s extremely beautiful. Ashamed to say I’ve never rescued a pigeon, but I have gotten myself into trouble trying to take mice to the vet

Fun fact pigeons were vital modes of communication to the allies during WWII and there was a special unit of like 30 homing pigeons that got military medals for their service

Our city pigeons are descendants of pet pigeons, because we domesticated them like a thousand years ago. They are like feral cats or dogs, and I always feel sad about that.
