Having a wind down album

For me this album is Carrie and Lowell by Sufjan Stevens, one of the literal saddest albums of all time. I've been listening to it whenever I can't sleep since it came out (literally 10+ years ago). It always works. I don't know what's wrong with me.

I LOVE Carrie and Lowell too! I saw him on tour for that album and literally cried during the show because it reminded me of my grief for a loved one I lost. Maybe we love it because the emotions in the album are so genuine?

Seeing him on that tour must have been magical. Yeah, and it kinda reminds me of some fiction I love in that it’s heartbreaking but the melodies are beautiful. Like a very sad story that’s also fun to read

That is exactly it! Sufjan on tour for Carrie and Lowell was the best concert of my life 😭 it also helped that in was in a beautifully restored historical theater!
