Focus on fun

I can get a little obsessive about aesthetics, but we knew we wanted to keep our costs low. Instead of spiraling on which chairs and napkins and plates and the list goes on…to get, we just went with all the standard, cheap stuff. We also picked a cater, band, DJ, and family friend who loves flowers we trusted and just let them have creative freedom. Then we did everything we could to make our wedding fun. We had delicious food, a live band with great music for dancing, a fire pit, s’mores, 11pm chicken wing delivery, my brother passing out joints (he loved having that job), and a venue big enough to accommodate everyone we wanted to invite so we didn’t have to choose. For me, not sweating the details and focusing on making sure the party was as pleasurable as possible meant that when it came time for the wedding, I was focused on just having a great time, not making sure the place setting looked right. It was one of the best days of my life
