what is the perfect plane movie? Endlessly seeking: vaguely mysterious and thrilling, sexy, a feast for the eyes a/o spirit. Not scary, unnecessarily sad, or too...complex.

Fun, big budget fantasy that doesn’t take itself too seriously. Lots of original and creative ideas, despite some overdone modern tropes. Fast paced even at 2+ hours, and the whole cast including Hugh Grant, Chris Pine, and Michelle Rodriguez are great.

This movie altered my brain chemistry. I saw it at the cinema when I was a teenager and became instantly infatuated with Julia Roberts as Erin. What do you MEAN women could be smart, independent, empathetic, unapologetic, bad ass bitches AND flaunt their boobs in cute little outfits?!?! Until that point, I believed we could be smart OR hot, certainly not both. Mind. Blowing. Julia’s Oscar-winning role and career highlight imho. cast chemistry, sassy one-liners, animal print, push up bras... this movie’s got it all! Still iconic 25 years later. Couldn't pick a favourite outfit or review, so here's a bunch of the best tehehe

WHY DID NOBODY TELL ME THIS MOVIE WAS SO FUCKING BAD ASS! IF I KNEW IT HAD ICONIC ANGRY WOMEN GETTING STONED & SEEKING REVENGE ON CREEPY SLIMEBALL MEN, I WOULD'VE WATCHED THIS AT BIRTH!!! I simply HAD to re-rec this, thank you @Nitabel! For a premium viewing experience, I also recommend getting high and watching it as @Danielle advised.

LOVED THIS. A heartwarming and cute movie, perfect for when you're in the mood for a silly laugh and a happy ending. Awkwafina is endearing in an autistic-coded gameshow-obsessed role, while Sandrah Oh is hilariously brilliant as her unhinged, chaotic sister. It was refreshing seeing Will Ferrell in a more understated role that doesn't over-dominate the scene as he can in other films.

I loved this movie. I love France, and watching it made me realize I still don’t fully understand everything about it—and I probably won’t until I grow more. But this movie is such a comfort for me. It’s unique, whimsical, and feels like its own little world. It holds a special place in my heart, and it always will.

tbh my favorite movie to watch on a plane is Arrival. it might be a little sad for what you’re looking for, but i think it has a hopeful sentiment in the end. definitely checks off the vaguely mysterious and thrilling box. also Ford v. Ferrari is a fun plane movie. worst movie to watch on a plane is The Day After Tomorrow.

This movie is just an ABSOLUTE BANGER; I first saw it on a long flight LAX-SIN and was stunned and delighted (even if you've seen previous versions, I guarantee this is the best one). 3 hours long and in French but ZIPS by and you're sad when it ends. It's got everything: action, mystery, romance, yearning, revenge, shipwrecks, prison breaks, Mission Impossible-like disguises in 19th century France. Justice for Edmond Dantes!
