Yesssss! I was worrying the other day if maybe I’m a good “new friend” but a bad “old friend” after hanging out with old college friends recently and realizing we have little to connect over these days. My husband said: “I think you just get to know yourself better as you age and therefore just end up picking better friends who suit your personality and interests.” Not to discount old friends, but man, did that reframe work for me! Making more friends as you know yourself better and better is the best. 😊

Exactly! Older friends are more likely cling to these past versions of you that you've outgrown while new friends are meeting the more fully developed & evolved you!

The friends we choose as adults often feel so much more aligned over those “good friends” for life that you might not have chosen given a fresh start. I love this.

Absolutely! I have very few friends from my hometown or even undergrad at this point because I’ve changed so much (honestly just did a lot of therapy and became my most authentic self).
