Owners of a 70+ father rise UP…looking for birthday gift recs for my dad who “doesn’t want anything and doesn’t need anything” (🤪). Like a classic dad, he loves world history, loves a comfortable chair, LL BEAN, slippers, birding, and fixing things. He lives in Maine and loves type 2 fun, but not THAT much because he’s (his words) “getting old”. He’s about to go on a road trip out west in US with brother…any ideas for a nice birthday gift or road trip gift? 🤟

My dad (75, John Muir girlie) lives at the intersection of topography, woodcarving, and national parks and monuments; perhaps yours might occupy a similar position? I got mine a lil’ walnut Half Dome one year (we used to camp at Yosemite) and it killed.
