Role Models (John Waters)

A pitch perfect non-traditional memoir, each chapter explores a mentor who shaped him (whether they knew it or not). It’s the most vulnerable Waters gets, describing those he deeply loves. I was gifted the book while over-working as a harangued CAA assistant. It was Christmas, and one of my boss’ writer clients sent me the book with a note saying it had been her favorite of the year. It struck me as a divinely classy present, and still does. I’ve gifted it myself fondly.
