The Morning Gift by Eva Ibbotson — warm, funny, intelligent, romantic, and one of those books I wish more people knew about.

It’s warm, witty and deeply romantic without ever feeling cheesy. I love how intelligent and kind the characters are, and it has that rare combination of humour, atmosphere and emotional depth that makes me want to live inside the book for a while.

Oh my goodness! Growing up I absolutely adored her witchy books for kids and would check them out on repeat from the local library. Such a wonderful writer. Most of them seem to be out of print these days, unfortunately. I had no idea that she wrote for adults, too!

Ohhh this makes me so happy 😭❤️ The Morning Gift is actually one of my all-time favourite books, so I love finding someone else who already had that childhood Eva Ibbotson connection too.
Her adult novels have that same warmth and wit, just in a different register. I really hope you enjoy exploring them!
