Under $40 candles for scent snobs? The Maison Louis Marie candles are my daily drivers but I bet this crowd knows some bangers. Nothing too gourmand, vanilla is ok though.

Candlefish No. 31: A friend from South Carolina brought me one of these (No. 31) as a hostess present and I’ve been obsessed ever since.

I particularly like this fragrance for fall because it’s woodsy & warm with a slight tang that keeps it crisp.

Lots of options in their library and the smaller tins allow low risk sampling.

Putnam Design Shop Tea Candle: I like all of them, but Tea is my favorite - I’m not a gourmand person either, but the scent is totally unique and not obvious, a tiny bit smoky, and I keep going back to it.
