the annual stowing of the shorts

When I do my closet rotation, my rule is that I must try on anything that is staying put or leaving storage. If I don’t care enough to try it on, I likely won’t wear it, so to the donation bin it goes. If I try it on, then I can do as I like - keep, donate, or store.

This means I try on every piece of clothing I own at least once a year, which also helps me wear more of what I own!

also known as the annual unveiling of the sweaters. i keep a storage bin to pack away seasonal clothes that wont be worn for awhile to free up space in my closet. for me this means shorts go in at the start of fall and sweaters come out until summer. i also like to take it as a chance to cull items that didn't get any wear that season.
