Lacuna
This is one of the most aesthetically pleasing games I own. The colors are great, the pieces have a nice heft in the hand, and the whole thing comes in a cute tube that you can toss in your bag and take anywhere.

Yes, very! Players take turns placing their pawns (gold or silver) on the board. After all pawns are placed, you figure out who takes which flowers (colored) based on how far they are from the pawns. Then you count your flowers and see who wins.
There's quite a lot of strategy in where you place your pawns and which flowers you try to collect, but you learn all that stuff by playing. You can be playing your first game within five minutes of opening the tube!
