merlin app

Next to Gmail this is probably the most used app on my phone (k not really, it’s probably instagram but let’s pretend) It allows you to record bird sounds and then will identify which bird it is and gives you information on them. Made by the ornithology lab at Cornell which is basically in my backyard. People love their birds up here. I totally get it.

Obsessed.I love "catching" birds when I travel. I tell people it's like catching Pokemon even though I gave no idea how that works. All the birding helps the researchers at Cornell, too. Love Merlin!

“This is a game changer that has brought so much joy to me and my family. New traditions include popsicles on the front steps with my son while we use this app, and weekend post-bedtime drinks with husband unwinding and bird-listening. We are a bird family now. 10/10 rec!”
