Love this. Was read at my high school graduation many moons ago and it really imprinted.

I fell in love with The Prophet a little over ten years ago (27, in a loud season of finding my own voice/self-expression, getting my first tattoo and a septum piercing in the same week, Saturn-return stereotype, if you will). I met my mom for coffee in this period and I read this passage to her and we cried together. It really is so beautiful. And offers a much-needed reminder that the parent, too, is singularly (apart from their children) significant, and on their own path.
