Not doing party favors (for your kid's birthday or otherwise)

Save your money, save your time, save the planet, save my sanity.

I love when my kids are invited to birthday parties. I am HAPPY to buy a birthday present and come eat a slice of pizza or cake while my kid plays. Please do not give my kid a bag of goodies. We do not need them!

The party IS the favor!

Uhm couldn’t agree more. I’ve never done party favors because I tell my kids that other kids don’t need more junk!

We’ve only had small parties so far, so I’ve done small things, like painted rocks (because we have perpetual mounds of rocks at home) or bigger tubs of natural play doh. We’re about to have a bigger party, though, and I’m trying to figure out if I can keep it eco, and not annoying!

I have a friend who truly loves handmaking a party favor, it might be her favorite part of putting the party together. If it brings you that much joy, who am I to squash it? But I think a lot of people do it solely because it's a norm they're accustomed to, and I want to give everyone permission to just... not do it! Take it off your list of things to do!
