Book-themed birthday parties

Our most epic was a double-header Chirri and Chirra party for our 5yo and her BFF, based on the book in which the plucky heroines attend a midnight kitty carnival. Gem candy, breads from a Japanese bakery in SF, light-up flower crowns, decorate-your-own-cat-mask station, treasure map, and huge crepe paper flowers and paper lanterns as decor — hosted in one of our town’s magical public parks.
