Keeping a record of your Thanksgiving menu

Thanksgiving is my Super Bowl and as such, it necessitates a game plan. Every year I compile our menu, grocery list and day-of timeline in a running Google Doc. About three days out, I print it and work off of the paper copy. Yes, I end up crossing out and changing my timeline multiple times but I also get the satisfaction of checking off my ingredients and steps with a pen or pencil.

Friday morning allows for a postmortem review of the meal where I jot down notes for next year — was the new pie recipe tried worthy of a spot on the table annually? Did someone bring an appetizer that you want the recipe for? All of that is on the record!
