And I don’t mean this in a girlbossy way; I mean it in a reflective and clarifying way. Identifying what your priorities are, and with specificity (“I want to prioritize attending my niece’s volleyball games” rather than generally “I value family”), makes it more likely you’ll have those things mentally accessible when you’re in a moment of decision. For me, it has helped to see each “no” as a “yes” to something I value more. Saying “no” allows you to protect what truly matters to you.
