make a plan for future earnings before you quit

I quit my job without a plan last year to find myself. I had many years of savings, but I hadn't fully tested my viability in the consulting market, and it turned out if I had waited another year, things would have been a lot easier for me.

Talk to old coworkers, get advice from recruiters, look at freelance boards... basically, make a plan. It'll be a lot easier to get back in if you have a strong network, etc.

(but do it! I learned so much, even though it was hard and kind of sucked)
