after six years of working remotely (my entire career? annoyingly?) I got a part-time job working at a pie shop for a few hours on Sundays. I get to give pie to smiling children! I have regulars! I get free pie! I am reminded that having a real job with real people is pretty great!

🥲 this is so wholesome and can only imagine suuuch a good response to this question. One of my favorite jobs ever was at a coffee shop in college - it’s so good for the soul to be a part of a little community with your coworkers and regular customers. Connection with the outside world & with other humans (and maybe even sometimes their dogs!?) is life changing - even if it’s just a smiley “good morning!” and helping people treat themselves.❤️ (plus you’d be getting paid to be there! Which could perhaps help you choose a big / small way to treat YOURself too✨)

such a sweet response!!! you nailed it on the head - those moments of connection really are life changing. I get so many glimpses of people's lives - a friend picking up pie to bring to their friend in the hospital, birthdays, last day of kindergarten celebrations... it's just so life affirming.

(and yes, I'm using it to justify my art supply habit hahahah)
