Saves me every Minnesota winter. Go walking. Shovel. Or pick up an outdoor sport in you are able! Cross Country skiing groups are a great place to get some social time in too. We spent a lot of time at the outdoor skating rinks with neighbors.
The gear matters a lot: Steger Mukluk boots, balaclavas, gortex gloves (hestra or outdoor research), merino wool under layers, wool socks, and a great parka. Chime in if you want a collection. I could go on and on.

As someone who just moved to Minnesota, I love this rec! Thank you so much. Can I ask where you like to get your merino wool layers from?
Our family usually sticks with Smartwool for basics. Lululemon has some decent tops that work really well for transitional season and outdoor running in chilly fall mornings. I got two of the Varley Always Warm Baselayer tops last year and LOVE them.
Thank you!! 🙏
