Picked this up on a whim from the library and then was completely obsessed. There’s nothing warm about these books but they’re not punishing, either. A little bit steampunk, totally unlike anything else I’ve read.

I’ve never seen this recommended before and I just want to wholeheartedly second this. I still think of this world often and haven’t read anything else that scratches the same itch as these books.
