On the dad angle, maybe gift certificates to several restaurants for date nights with a child--I have organized with my ex once a month where she gets one boy, I get the other, and we each get some one on one time with a son. It's pretty great.

My almost 44 year old husband's birthday is later this month and I'm absolutely stumped on what would make a good gift for this person I've known for almost two decades! He likes running, being outdoors, being a dad, utilitarian in his style preferences. He's also had a particularly tough last 6 months so I want to knock it out of the park but I have decision fatigue. Budget is $500 or less. What say you internet?! What do I buy for the LOML?
