Ask Your Parents to Write a Cookbook

My parents gave a homemade cookbook as a Christmas present one year to their adult children. They wrote down the family’s favorite recipes along with stories about the food. It’s a bunch of inkjet printed pages in a three-ring binder and it is these many years later one of my most treasured possessions. The right parents will have a blast making these, too.

Yes - loudly seconded. :) This makes me so happy. The cook in my fam was my grandmother - a few years before she died, I sent her a blank cookbook and she hand wrote any recipes she felt like sharing inside. She’s been gone more than a decade and honestly I had no idea how much it would mean to me to have her cookbook.

My mom and I are currently working on making a recipe book together it’s been so fun! Love that it’s all handwritten.
