Barb and Star go to Vista Del Mar is Brilliant

Recommended by Joe

This movie works by refusing to do what you want it to. Everything that happens had to happen once you’ve seen it, but you’ll almost never call it beforehand. It’s (actually, seriously) genius. And it’s true, a person’s face does say a lot about how they look.

This is so good! I feel like it’s underwatched.

“i truly believe that if this hadn’t been released during covid lockdown it would have been a smash hit. it is so delightful and fun. criminally underrated.”

“I think this hilarious movie gets overlooked for two reasons: (1) it stars two middle aged women (2) it came out in early 2021. One of the funniest movies I’ve ever seen. It’s sharp and kind to its main characters and Florida vacation color themed. If you need a Friday night decompression movie you can’t go wrong with Barb and Star.”
