Tracking Down Hazily Remembered Media from Childhood
Recommended by Joe
A great game - that “tick tick, banana” song that comes from a VHS your exhausted third grade teacher showed you? Someone has put the source material up on YouTube. Spend an hour trying to track it down.
The linked clip is from a long video selling the metric system to elementary school students in Mississippi from the mid 1970’s, with a very memorable theme song and no other memorable attributes whatsoever.

10, as in, the number of fingers that the bank teller sticks up when he’s being robbed

Too many reasons, you can’t list’um
@framberg
What I remember from my Mississippi elementary school experience is a public television serial about libraries, maybe set in the future, like the people were survivors of an apocalypse or something? And the Dewey Decimal System was critical to humanity’s survival? Ring any bells?
@joeatwork
This is something I’ve heard of but didn’t see - I’m certain it’s out there, though!

@framberg was the series you’re remembering “Tomes and Talismans”? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tomes_%26_Talismans
