Jason Shiga’s Comic Puzzleboxes

Jason Shiga makes interactive comics about Oakland and cartoon violence, where “interactive” doesn’t (necessarily) mean “using computers”. His comics are sometimes “choose your own adventure” structures, sometimes just puzzles, usually a mix of the absurd and silly and the complex and dark.

The main link is to a digital version of his Eisner award-winning physical book / game / thing “Meanwhile”, but he has other work available around the web:

“Fleep”, where a man wakes up with no memory trapped in a phone booth that is slightly wrong.

“Demon”, a violent set of puzzleboxes about an accountant who discovers a supernatural phenomenon.
