Edge of Tomorrow (2014)

I’d put this time-loop alien-invasion action movie up there with the best Mission: Impossible movies in Tom Cruise’s filmography in terms of sheer well-crafted entertainment. Just tremendous fun, with great performances from Emily Blunt, Brendan Gleeson, and Bill Paxton.

Emily Blunt’s plank is its own character

Totally, amazing plank skills on display 😂

Don’t be swayed by the image that could make it seem like it lacks substance. This is a solidly good movie.

“I didn’t expect to like this movie and then I had the time of my literal life. Tom Cruise plays a coward!! Who of course learns the value of the army. But what really matters is Emily Blunt doing that plank and also one of the more fun groundhog’s day concepts I’ve seen. I’m pretty sure the time logic at the end doesn’t make sense, but I’m no physicist.”
